Dinner

Someone is curious what I had for dinner :)

Here I cooked some healthy dishes!

Highlight today was the white wine dressing for bean salad, and homemade pickle!

I felt strange when I was eating... some dishes are Japanese, some are western...
On the TV, Indian music and dance (boliwood dance)was lively.
Having housemate from Germany, speaking with him in English...

Really a melting pot...

Rainy Season

It's still rainy season in Niigata.
Here in Singapore isn't rainy season, but humidity is really thiiiiick!

Just for your information, my room humidity gets about over 70% humidity!!!
Sometimes, it gets over 80%!!!!
Craaaazy!
So, here is the picture of my dehumidifier after running 4 hours!
Do you see the water in the tank?
When you touch my skin you will know that the humidity is helping, but heeeey it's still too much!

*The cup was displayed for you to see the size.

Singapore Flower Shop

has....

-Orchid
-Gerbera
-Carnation
-Lily
-Sunflower
-Stat ice
-Rose
-Chrysanthemum
and Leafs.

That's about all at most of the flower shops!!!
Really limited choice...
I've been trying to be positive to arrange flowers, but no more choices lately...

Now I know about myself bit more...
I am not happy when I don't get to choose, and can't even create another option...
Like for this case, plants flowers could be an option, if I had garden.... but I don't have one nor veranda.

I love flowers in the shop.
I love to see wild flowers along the way.
I hope you also enjoy flowers in your life :)

Singapore Night Festival

I happened to get to know, Singapore Night Festival.
It was happening last night 11/July/2009, in front of National Museum of Singapore.

"The Loop of Fortune" -----------------------
German Performance group Action Theatre PAN. OPTIKUM presents The Loop of Fortune-an electrifying adaptation of the group's most successful performances, debuting at the Night Festival. Making use of the grand architecture of the Museum's facade as a backdrop, audience will be drawn to the performance's arcobatics, acting, live vocals and pyrotechnic displays that outline the dramatic imagery of a man's journey through life's trials and tribulantions as he fulfils his destiny.
-----------------------------

Three men were on the huge wheel and the wheel spins and the men swing with some poses. Then fireworks spiced up more.

Then, we walked and bumped into late night flea market.
Some booth had their original goods, designer's good which you hardly can find in Singapore.

When we got on taxi, he said "Good morning!"
Arrrh,....it was already 1:30am!

Sunday afternoon

Cooked late lunch, waiting for washing machine to finish, listening radio in my cleaned room.

....Kris Kross "Jump" came on the air; FM 98.00.

They were huge boom, when I first went to U.S. 15yrs ago.
I've heard the song first time at super market in Texas and asked people to find out their CD in the shop.
Since then, it became the song to remind me my young age, studied English crazy, tried so hard to go to university in U.S.

Radio stations in Singapore are not too bad; bit old songs but many stations.
I used to have many music freak around me, but not lately.... let me know cool songs please!!!

TANABATA-The Star Festival

Princess Oli and Prince Hiko suppose to be able to see each other and have a date only on this July 7th.

In Singapore, the Moon was too bright and I couldn't see them seeing each other.
I hope they were having lovely time at milky way :)

We were invited for private party at Singapore Turf Club today.
We were asked to wear decent cloth and shoes.

It was unfortunated that the weather wasn't great...
But we really enjoyed races and beautiful horses!

I always enjoy learning new things in fun/hands on way!
Learned so much about horses, races, including how to bet!

Beginner's luck was $50. hahaha-!

Melting pot; Singapore = Hot & Humid!

Last Friday at my sweet heart's engagement casual dinner, there were Malaysian, Indonesian, and French.
Last night at my house mate's birthday BBQ + Turkish dish party, there were Thai, French, Singaporean, Malaysian, and German.

I love this international melting pot, but really hard for me to find same interests...
If I were Japan or Colorado, I would meet people who do outdoor activities; hiking, fishing, kayaking, snowboarding, going hot springs, enjoying cultural/musical festival, going day trip to next prefecture/state...
Singapore is very small, so I feel bit trapped sometimes.

Maybe it's time for me to go back to my favorite country; Thailand to refresh myself.
Southern Thailand for diving?
Northern Thailand for hiking?
I really miss it... I should really think about it!

Communication

Calling to Japan, US$0.026/min, to Japanese mobile US$0.177/min, to US$0.024/min!
Distance really doesn't matter!!!!

When you communicate more, world get connected and united.
I really want to keep up my English so that I can still communicated and be there for my friends everywhere in the world.

For me, I need to talk deep to be a friend.
There are so many people I meet and talk in Singapore, but it doesn't mean they are close friends.
I really have to feel their heart in order to open up my heart.
I look friendly, but there are few tricks to get to know me...

Secret Schlumberger Bar: Majo no Houki

is in Nagaoka.
If you recognized the name of the bar, you must know Schlumberger.
I heard the name of the bar first time after some years.

I was visiting one client which was Coca cola related company.
We were talking with this gentle man, CEO of the company in Japanese.
We forgot to ask, but I assume that he is from Australia...anyway, he isn't Japanese, but fluent in Japanease...
He mentioned that he studied in Kyoto, Japan.

When I introduced myself I said I am from Niiaga prefecture.
And he mentioned "Nagaoka" right away, I asked him how come he knows the little city of Nagaoka, then he told me he used to work in Nagaoka... he used to work for Schlumberger.

He worked for SLB for 7yrs as wireline engineer.
Pert of his SLB time was in Nagaoka.
I got him started to speak more as I know SLB people and operation, he proudly told me his record was 100 hours logging alone.
Back that time the fresh graduate's salary was 1,000,000yen! Bubbly era!
When he was talking about the time with SLB, his voice and face got younger.
I can just feel that he leaped back to the time...

I thought it is really interesting that he was in Nagaoka when I was little.
He was there and it was his glorious, shinning time.
I was also there in the same space same time.

Life is really interesting.
Passing by, crossing...

Is Bar; Majo no Houki still there?

Top sales -----→

was me!
Luckily, the top sales of entire company in May was me!

On 1st of June, I got transferred to new team and I was expected to close deal sooner....
Again, I was fortunate enough to closed one deal last week.
It was for UK research company.

Today, we started 3rd quarter.
I still hear some rumors of more restructuring....

ドラマ

海外に住んでいると、DVDを見る機会が増えるような気がするなー。
特に、日本のドラマを見ている人は多いなぁ。

私が好きなのは、日本のドラマよりも海外ドラマ。
特にお気に入りは "Friends" "Sex and the city" "Ally Macbeal" "Brothers and sisters"。

Lesson

Went to Ukulele lesson today :)
I am learning few songs and at the same time he teaches me little techniques.
When you can play arpeggio, you don't really have to sing!
That's all I want!
I am horrible singer...
Anyway, music is fun!
