オバマが当選されましたねー！
私自身、選挙権がなくとも、考えました。
そして、学校の子供たちも、日々ディベートしてました。

グリーンカードはとれても、
市民権が無いと、投票できないのでね。

同じ日に、こっちの一軒家の入札をしたよ。
準備足りなかったかなぁ。。。
オバマにはなれまへんでした。

アー眠すぎ。
またねー。

Camping!

学校の子供たち連れて、キャンプに行ってくるよ！ ２泊３日。準備の段階で既に大変。。。 さぁ、最終準備しなくちゃ！ じゃーねー！

学校

モンテッソーリの小学校に子供たちが戻ってきてから１週間。
私のほうが子供より体調を崩して、ほぼ週の最初っから風邪っぴきで金曜にはついにマスクをして学校に。。。。
さすがに、こっちでマスクをあまり目にしない子供たちは「Ms. Naomi、それなぁに？」
「なんでそんなのしてるの？」と会う子会う子に質問攻め。
風邪をひいて咳が出るし、鼻水もでるの。みんなにうつしたくないからマスクをしてるんだよ。’と。
土曜ははゆっくり休んだものの、悪化して病院へ。

今日、月曜にはほとんど良くなって、マスク無しで学校へ。
そしたら、一人の子が近くに来て、「Ms. Naomi,具合が良くなったみたいで嬉しいです！」って
わざわざ言いに来てくれたの。

この学校は、こんな感じでちっちゃな幸せが沢山あります。
子供が先生の体調を気にして、それにコメントしてくれるなんて思わないでしょう？
みんな、ちっちゃな大人な感じなの。

最近は私がひそかに火をつけようとしてる日本語がちょっぴりブーム。
私の準備のほうが追いつかない！と嬉しい悲鳴。

学校いくと心が落ち着く。

Birthday!

It's my birthday♪
Yeah.... not the age that I just jump around to celebrate anymore.... haha.
But my mother text me and said happy birthday to me and mentioned my age, 37.
Then, I took a moment... I thought I was gonna became 38!
But it is 37!
It was like she gave me a bonus year! ahaha.

So many people who remembered and shared my birthday with me, THANK YOU!
Thank you for your message!
All made me very happy!

姪っ子への手紙の返事

小学校５年生の姪っ子が自発的に書いてくれた手紙に返事を書いた。

今私が働いているモンテッソーリの学校について説明してみたら、
意外と姪っ子だけじゃなくてみんなも驚くかもしれない。

１年生から３年生が一緒のクラス。
３年生から６年生が一緒のクラス。

時間割は無く、自分の好きなことを選んでする。

だから、いつトイレに行っても自由。
先生にわざわざ確認する必要はなし。

宿題はない。

教室によって犬がいる教室もある。

今日は、うちの学校からハーバードにストレートで入った子が、遊びに戻ってきてくれた。
自分がどんなにラッキーだったのか、改めてひとつひとつのモンテッソーリの教材と、
環境に感謝をしていた。

まだ２０歳なのに、とってもしっかりした子で、
こっちが緊張してしまうくらい。
人生違うよなぁ、、、自分の責任で小さな頃から決断をしてきた子は！
自立してるし責任感がすごいある。

Appreciation

I am really grateful to all my friends and family.... Especially, people who believe in me.

Today, I got to talk with my friend from Austria who always been seated left side of me in the class.
This was after a month we last saw each other!
It was great to see her on the camera and really nice to discuss with her soul and passion!

She is very young, but I really do trust her.
I love how we can trust and help each other....

She understands my disadvantage of my language, but she always respects what's inside of me and finish listening.
She doesn't just let go with my surface of me, but care the core of me...
She is an amazing person, really....and children who had a chance to be with her, they are too lucky!

I am grateful for her friendship and trust in me.
I know I have been so fortunate that been given so much opportunities in the past, but I always wanted to be the side of giving other people opportunities.

My dad has been running a small business since I was born.
Ever since he gave so many people so much opportunities....
I think it's great!

I can't risk my friends and family, but still want to do some research if anything I can do...

いつもの一日

卒業したのが６月上旬。
それから、６月下旬から最近までは、学校のアシスタントコースのお手伝いをしながらそのコースを聴講させてもらっていました。

それが先週終わって、仕事も決め。
バタバタした感じがやっとなんか終わってしまった。
終わってしまった、、、という表現がなんとも私らしい。
やっぱり、せわしないのが文句を言いながらも好きなのかもしれない。

そうそう、仕事は８月下旬から。
モンテッソーリ小学校の高学年のアシスタント。

残るは苦手なきっちりすることだけ。
はい、これから様々な手続きが残っています。 にーがーてだぁー。

日々、バラの手入れをしたり、実がなる気配のないトマトに愛情を込め。
モンテッソーリのストレスフルな学校生活で太った身体にムチを打ち、走り。
頭ってこうやって老化していくのかなぁ？などと本を読んだりしながらも、ボーっと考えてしまう。

自然がいっぱいのキャンプにでもドカーンと行きたい。 何かひらめきそうだ。

Dirty Dancing

Just finished watching old movie; Dirty dancing.
I think I first watched it when I was early teen age.
I remember my heart started to beat faster and faster as the music and dance goes.
Everyone must have experienced the puberty period and this movie was one of it that gave me tremendous impact.
I might still have VHS of it... (hahaha... VHS! Do I still have the player!? )

Gosh... I have to say that I love the oldies music... and the style back that American good old time...
I wish I could live in the 60's.... I would put my hair up pony tail and wear fluffy skirt and folded socks for you ;)
We all gonna go out for dancing by the roundish bodied classic car!


Now I have to repeat playing this one!

Should I start taking swing class again?

Stitches..

A night before my final exam... I cut my thumb with a knife very deep and had to have stitches. ahaha.... doesn't it so like me???? I was at urgent care and had a doctor sew it... ouiiiii---! Next day at the final exam, I came up to my instructor right away and told the incident... He and other examiners understood and gave me sympathy a lot... But half of the exam was oral... so I did my presentation with hands, but had to answer all with my knowledge in my brain! Well... I passed as I mentioned in the previous email. On the graduation... my instructor had to explain my thumb when he gave me the diploma! He said that under the tremendous stress.... students can get hurt like me! He also mentioned how the process of the way to the final exam has been tough with few more examples. To me cooking is something I can concentrate. I rarely make any accident in the kitchen to myself.... may be to the dishes! ;P Well... I am still in the process of healing so just gazing at my new camp gears now.... Time to go out!!!! Sun is shining!

I passed!!!!

I passed my final oral exam!!!! Yeeeeeeeah!!!!!! The Montessori method isn't rocket science kind of difficult... but the program was so tough and super intense!!! Lots of work and writing and practice.... really hard to believe that I really did everything!!! Soooooo much stress everyday....Everyone felt like a never ending process.... Stress was accumulated...

Yes, I wasn't exception. I treated me with good food and drinks. It's not pay back time. Looking at myself in the mirror.... mmmmmmm I really don't like it. Time for me to get back to do some exercises! Aaaaaand look for a job! aha! Wonderful wonderful program and I would strongly recommend to go for it if anyone is wondering about it!

九谷焼って知っていますか？ ウィキ　九谷焼 私の一番下の弟が九谷焼の研究所で九谷焼を焼いていました。 貴、わかるかな？？？ 先日、アンティークの九谷焼に出会いました。

これ、本金花詰って言われる類の九谷焼なんだというところまでつかんだものの、 この作家さんまでは判らなくって、、、 っていうか九谷の松潤ってだれですかねー！！！あはは。 骨董なのかなぁ、、、？？？

German cafe and a rose

I went to my favorite German cafe to celebrate for finishing my written exams. There was this rose on the table and I was eager to know the specific name of it as it is really beautiful, so I simply asked. They did't know the name because one of their customer brought them. The owner of the cafe, she said to take the rose on the table with me!!!! Nice cafe, nice people!!! I miss Germany and my great friends over there... P.S. Anyone know the specific name of this rose???

Stress / ストレス

私、ストレスに弱いんだなぁ。。。 ほんと、ストレスに強そうに見えるし、強そうな動きもするけれど、、、 弱いなぁ。。。 そういう風なことコメントするのも嫌だけれど、、、 最近、強がることさえできない。 明日はテスト初日。 っていうか、４時間の筆記なんだけれど、、、途方に暮れる。 想像するだけで途方に暮れる。 無駄なストレスでしょ。あはは。 週末は、ぽかぽか陽気の海と山へ行ってきたよ。 行くことに対しての少しの罪悪感を抱えてたんだけれど、 行ったらやっぱり自然にはかなわない、、、と心が潤う。 今やってるMontessori （モンテッソーリ）も極論は自然が子供を育てるとさ。 "Nature has the plan!" ほんとーにそうやねん。（っていうかなんで大阪弁？） 自然にきちんと深く触れている子はなんだかんだグレないしね。 最終的には社会を考えれる子に育つ。 個人しか考えられない子はDeviate される。。。みたいな。 こんなことを論じなければならんのですよ。 あぁ、テスト、テストなんだぁー。 何年ぶり？ 嫌やわぁー。

Written exam

Some of you might be wondering about my silence. Yes, I am stressed out...really. Next week, there will be my 4hours written exam for two days... You all know that I am not studious person... Oh... well...

Linen

I can tell my mind is bit relaxed this weekend finally.

I love linen, if any of you knew it or not, I love it.
I sewed a pair of short pants with white linen last year.
I think I love all sort of fabrics in anyway...the texture, the design and its smell.

My favorite dish towel is made by Libeco.
They had a fabulous video on line which I really enjoyed!

Just like they do, I also believed in the nature and the people around.
Nature knows the path, not the technology!

Weather in Nagaoka!

It's been very cold winter in Nagaoka!
In these days, it even gets to -7 Celsius!!!
A lot of snow... my grandpa just turned 87 years old is not allowed to shovel off the snow from the house since few years ago... he still does shovel off the snow around the house everyday!

People from cold weather tend to be hard-worker and patient for sure!

24、献血する
献血が怖いなと思ったら、血液が足りなくて必要としている人のことを思い浮かべて下さい。それだけでは恐怖が解消されない場合は、献血所にクッキーがあることをお伝えしておきます。

うーん、これって、かなり濃い行動リスト！　実行していくうちに、人生を相当達観できそうです。もちろん25歳を過ぎた女子でも、取り組んでみる価値ありですよっ！

柑橘系

カリフォルニアに居るからには、やっぱり柑橘系の実が家の庭でなってたら、贅沢な気分でしょー！
そのほか、桜に似た花が付くアーモンドの木、朗らかなペッパーの木も素敵。
もちろん王道のバラも！

家は納屋のようであったとしても、やっぱりそんな自然が一番贅沢だと思う。

People need real things and experience!

It's sad for children not to be able to see the real animals and it's surrounding nature.
How could we teach the real touch of animals? real smell of hay? if they are only allow to play with fake toys.

How did I know how to catch a cab in Singapore if I were not living over there. How do I know the smell of many countries in S.E. Asia if I haven't been there!

National Geographic Photo Contest

I am subscribing National Geographic Magazine and as all of you know that they have amazing pictures!
All of above they had their photo contest and I really enjoyed the beauty of the nature... so detailed and lively motions in each pictures...

One of my favorite is #10 as the color of the ocean reminds me of the water in Southern Thailand so much!
