Festive season

Last past weekends were rushed for Christmas shopping, writing cards, wrapping gifts...

This weekend, I had to work a bit because Singapore has announced that Singapore economy is back to the point right before the economy crisis.
Though, I don't see many people car ring too many shopping bags, but still I can see people l lined up for Luis Vuitton and other major extravagance brands.

My job as in recruitment business is easily affected by economy.
Hiring had been canceled since the crisis, then from Aug, some companies have started to seek for well experienced available people in job hunting market.
Those firms had this fantasy expectation that they can hire well experienced person for less salary package than before.
Though they've tried to hire, the low salary package absolutely didn't lure people, and it means we couldn't close deals.

Now, it's getting the other way around.
They are really hiring, but we can't find people.
Firms wouldn't lower down the requirements, as they still think there are many available people in the market.
It's the end of year, Chinese new year is in Feb., many people are expecting for bonus, wanna wait for few more months, or waiting for so much better offer.
So, still giving us hard time... :(

Lately,Japanese retail stores and food business embark on Singapore market.
New business = Hiring = Naomi busy
I prefer helping those new pioneer companies than one just have long history.
It's fun when I can feel that I am part of their project to be part of their success and dream :)

This Saturday afternoon, I happened to be at one of shopping mall, looking at kids skating on the seasonal temporary ice skate rink.
It's fake kind of skate rink, but still they were having fun; fall down, pushing, crying, holding hands, skating, smiling... cute cute.
Then, fake snow got them more excited :)
It was really fun looking at them.

Came home, let my body spread on living room sofa, listening Carmen McRae,
Carmen McRae on You Tube
stare leaves out of the window vacantly... till it gets dark...
Practiced my ukulele... Then, went to night market with my good Thai friend.

I've been there before but it wasn't night time, so there was no night market.
Market was bit disappointing... as I was looking for something like the one in Chiang mai, Thailand or Luang Prabang, Laos... well... Singapore singapore, more of junk plastic stuff :(
Still I enjoyed to hunt nice things and found a bell! :D

At the place, you can see airplanes take off so close, it must be fun to sit there at bar in the Saturday afternoon, seeing it take off next time.
I should come with my friend who is an airplane nerd :)

The day closed with the fascinating acrobatic show Corteo by Cirque Du Soleil.
